Poverty in Ecuador falls 12 points in 7 years
According to Pabel Muñoz, director of Ecuador’s National Secretariat of Planning and Development (Senplades), poverty indicators in the country have recorded a significant decrease of 12 points in the last seven years, and shown the highest rate of investment in Latin America during the period.
UN Security Council to hold emergency meeting to address Ebola epidemic
NEW YORK.— The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting September 18, with the objective of coming to agreement on a worldwide response to the Ebola outbreak in western Africa, according to U.S. ambassador to the UN, Samantha Power, who currently presides the Council.
