Around 264 projects worth a possible 8.7 billion dollars make up Cuba’s portfolio of foreign investment opportunities, currently being presented at the Havana International Trade Fair (FIHAV 2014).

Although the portfolio contains projects from across the county, including the special municipality of the Isle of Youth, the majority are based in provinces such as Artemisa, Havana, Cienfuegos and Holguín, among others.
Around 25 projects are included in the Mariel Special Development Zone, in sectors such as biotechnology, medicines, food and agriculture, industry and renewable energy.
According to Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, the portfolio will be up-dated every year with greater depth and focus in order to establish a chain of production in the country.
