Yesterday, January 25, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, President of Cuba’s Councils of Ministers and State, received Ernesto Samper Pizano, Union of South American Nations (Unasur) general secretary, and former President of Colombia.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed several issues of regional and international interest. Raúl thanked Samper for his statements against the U.S. blockade of Cuba and in support of the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.
The distinguished guest was accompanied by Ana María Serrano, Unasur secretariat information officer, while additionally participating on the Cuban side was Marcelino Medina, interim minister of Foreign Relations.
