Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, a vice president of the Council of Ministers, held a cordial meeting with the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, during which they discussed increased bilateral trade and economic relations between this federal subject of the Russian Federation and the island, specifically in the fields of automotive transport, petrochemicals and biotechnology.
During the encounter, both sides expressed their satisfaction with the effective participation in the Program for Economic and Social Development of Cuba until 2020.
As part of his visit to Tatarstan, Cabrisas toured the city of Naberezhnye Chelny this past Saturday, June 11, where KAMAZ trucks are produced. There he met with the Director General of the firm, Serguei Kogoguin. Likewise, the Cuban official toured the Quantorium Technology Park, considered one of the most important in Russia, dedicated to children.
Cabrisas began a working visit to the Russian Federation to participate in the 20th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and hold a meeting of co-presidents of the Cuba-Russia Intergovernmental Commission, among other planned activities.
