The Iberostar Hotels & Resorts chain closed 2015 with the opening of a new hotel, reaffirming the company’s commitment to Cuba, a key destination where it already has 10 other establishments.

IBEROSTAR Playa Pilar is an exclusive five star resort with 482 rooms. Located in Cayo Guillermo, in the stunning Jardines del Rey archipelago, the new facility includes 15 buildings or bungalows, and offers unique services for a perfect family holiday.

The hotel is part of the firm’s Premium Gold category. It is the closest hotel to one of Cuba's best beaches, Playa Pilar, located opposite the second largest barrier reef in the world. The range of services and exquisite cuisine offered at the resort make the IBEROSTAR Playa Pilar a truly unique place.

The new hotel’s facilities include five swimming pools, in order to enjoy the enviable Cuban climate, a water park for youngsters, an area offering nautical activities, and a beach restaurant, which provides direct access to the idyllic coastline. This hotel is ideal for family holidays with a wide variety of entertainment options, as well for spending a relaxing few days, thanks to the Spa & Wellness services.

In the midst of a unique natural setting, visitors also have the privilege of enjoying a dip in a natural pool.

The hotel offers its guests countless leisure options for all ages, ranging from water sports including windsurfing, kayaking and scuba diving, to a tennis court, sports club, beach volleyball and basketball. Those in search of rest and relaxation can enjoy the Spa & Wellness centre, featuring a sauna, thermal baths and a wide selection of treatments and massages. The hotel also has its own beauty and hair salon, which completes the range of personal care services.

The IBEROSTAR Playa Pilar has four specialty restaurants, offering Mediterranean, Japanese, Italian and Gourmet dishes, to satisfy all tastes.

The IBEROSTAR Hotels & Resorts chain was founded in Palma de Mallorca (Balearic Islands) by the Fluxà family in 1986. An integral part of the GRUPO IBEROSTAR, one of the leading Spanish tourist companies, with over 80 years of experience, the chain currently has more than one hundred 4 and 5 star hotels in sixteen countries across the world.
