After intense days of debate, first in the permanent working commissions and then in the plenary session of the Second Ordinary Period of Sessions of the 10th Legislature, today will be the last day in which the National Assembly of People's Power gathers this year the Cuban deputies to analyze and decide on issues that determine the life of the country.
On the previous date, the Ministry of Industries rendered an account of its management, inevitably crossed in its productions by the severe limitations that characterize the Cuban reality of the last few years.
In such circumstances, workers and managers have imposed their industriousness and ingenuity to sustain fundamental activities that guaranteed the vitality of industrial activity, and this work was praised by Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, leader of the Cuban Revolution.
In the presence, also, of the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, the exercise of the highest supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture concluded yesterday; the results of the implementation of the Family Code were socialized, one year after its entry into force; and the Criminal Procedure Law was discussed.
The governments of the provinces of Cienfuegos and Las Tunas also rendered an account of their performance before Parliament.
Today, the bills on the Public Health Law, the Military Prosecutor's Office and the System of Attention to People's Complaints and Petitions will be presented; the agency and the provincial government that will render an account in July will be approved, as well as the next agency subject to high supervision, and the Legislative Schedule for 2024 will be updated.
