OFFICIAL VOICE OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF CUBA CENTRAL COMMITTEE
President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez attended the starting ceremony of the tour, which had as its starting point the Avenida de los Libertadores, in front of the walls of the Moncada Photo: TAKEN FROM THE PRESIDENCY'S X ACCOUNT.

The Caravan of Freedom is once again offering, as of January 2, the privileged possibility for the oldest segment of the population to remember, and the new generations to reedit, an event that 65 years ago shook the entire country, as Fidel, at the head of the victorious Rebel Army, advanced, city by city, from Santiago de Cuba towards the Cuban capital.

Six and a half decades releasing emotions, in the style of those that, for sure, nested this time there, next to the Moncada, in personalities such as the Rebel Army commander José Ramón Machado Ventura and Brigadier General Delsa Esther -Teté- Puebla, witnesses of that historic event, protagonists of the struggle that led to the victory, and of the subsequent process of new conquests and defense of them.

These were the motivations that also encouraged Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez to attend, surrounded by young people, the take-off of the same caravan that, greeted by thousands of people as it passed through Palma Soriano, Contramaestre, Jiguaní... would enter Bayamo hours later, to be greeted by a multitude of people, and by the emblematic song Hay que cuidar a Fidel, interpreted by the Quinteto Rebelde; there, in the former City Hall, where the Commander in Chief spoke to all the people of Bayamo.

January 3 would not be different for Holguineros of all ages, and in particular for young people like Ana Laura Campello Perez, who, according to what she told Granma, can "imagine the enthusiasm and joy of the bearded ones during those days of January 1959".

The advance, finally, continues towards the west, reviving history, unveiling genuinely Cuban cultural talent, intertwining generations, giving the card to those who join the Young Communist League, sowing the certainty and the common decision to save the Revolution, as stated, in Santiago, Aylín Álvarez García, first secretary of the political youth organization.

As in the aforementioned territories, authorities of the Party, the Government, the ujc and the people, reserve surprises for the next hours in Las Tunas, Camagüey, Ciego de Ávila...

We continue touring Cuba together with a caravan that has a lot of history, more and more tradition, culture and, undoubtedly, future.
