"It will not be easy, it will not be easy, because being a young communist will not mean privilege of any kind, but quite the contrary: being a young communist will mean sacrifice, it will mean abnegation (...)".
Thus said, on April 4, 1962, Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz to a crowd of young rebels, when he inscribed in the memory of the people the creation of an organization that is the thought and arm of the nation: the Union of Young Communists (UJC).
Once again in April, from today until April 4, the 12th Congress of the youth political organization of the Communist Party of Cuba will take place in Havana, where hundreds of thousands of boys and girls between 15 and 30 years of age are grouped together.
The organization continues to bring together non-conformist youths who dialogue, debate and propose solutions to the problems faced by the Revolution.
The accompaniment to the implementation of the Integral Policy for the care of children, adolescents and youth; the promotion of patriotic values; the defense of youth rights; as well as the ideological preparation of the new generations..., all in a context in which there is an increasing presence of young people in the leadership bodies of society, are vital issues that will be analyzed in the conclave, in which, once again, the word of order will be: what else can we do for Cuba?
