
The 13th International Tourism Fair (fitCuba) 2025 returns to the Cuban capital to outline strategies, policies and actions in the market, get acquainted with Cuban destinations and products, as well as learn about the culture of the People's Republic of China, guest of honor at this year's edition.
The most significant professional event developed annually by the tourism industry in Cuba will take place from April 30 to May 3, said the minister of the sector, Juan Carlos García Granda, when he presented fitCuba 2025 to the diplomatic corps of Western Europe and Canada on Wednesday.
Once again, the Morro-Cabaña Historic Military Park complex will host the event, with a diverse program that seeks to promote contact among specialists, executives and tourism companies with a presence in Cuba.
Among the activities to be held during the event will be a series of negotiations, a Cuba-China cultural gala, a parade for the International Workers' Day, a presentation of the destination and a workshop dedicated to the Asian nation, in addition to the collateral activities of the entities of the tourism system.
The Minister remarked that, for the first time in a Fair, a Meeting of Ministers of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) is scheduled for May 3, in order to analyze new strategies to make the multi-destination a reality within the bloc, as a way of sharing the region's benefits and attractions.
China represents a growing market of tourists to the Island; proof of that is the arrival of more than 8,000 visitors in 2022, more than 18,000 in 2023 and some 26,760 in 2024, with prospects of continuing its increase thanks to actions such as the restoration of direct air operations Beijing-Havana, and visa exemption for Chinese citizens holding ordinary passports who wish to enter, transit, leave or stay in Cuba.
Previously, García Granda stressed the need to continue creating conditions between the two countries to promote tourism and create a favorable environment to strengthen relations in multiple sectors.
