Between September and December, the draft Labor Code law will be submitted for consultation, to be enriched with the contributions of Cuban workers, both state and non-state, including those who collaborate and work in missions abroad.
According to Marta Elena Feitó Cabrera, Minister of Labor and Social Security, this decision is a way to expand the guarantees and rights of workers in labor legislation.
She highlighted as one of the main novelties that, based on comparative legislation, this proposed Labor Code is divided into four books that contemplate general provisions, individual and collective law and labor administration.
She pointed out that this text integrates 12 normative provisions previously issued, in addition to attaching the regulations to the norm itself.
Feitó Cabrera commented that this will give it greater comprehensiveness, and will unify all decisions in order to reinforce the workers' benefits.
She assured that, if this draft Labor Code is approved, it will be strictly enforced for all workers and employers in both the state and private sectors.
In the national preparation seminar held recently, Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, member of the Political Bureau and General Secretary of the Workers Central Union of Cuba, stated that this is the most important political process of the workers' movement in 2025, in which its participation in the destiny of the nation is reaffirmed.
The schedule includes the preparation of union cadres and leaders, with the accompaniment of jurists and representatives of organizations and institutions at the provincial and municipal levels, as well as the preparation of the collectives, in July and August.
