The Bolivian nation lived, this Wednesday, a new episode of coup d'état, aborted a few hours later by the popular mobilization in favor of President Luis Arce Catacora, in the capital and other cities of the country.
A military chief, replaced from his functions this same week, led the coup, which involved other military officers and military equipment.
On behalf of Cuba, a people in solidarity with broad bonds of brotherhood with those Latin American lands, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, denounced the attempts to subvert the will of the people through a military action against the Constitution of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, which would have serious consequences.
Through several messages on the social network X  he offered his support to the Bolivian President. "Indignant is the outrage against democracy and the Bolivian people shown in the images of international media this afternoon in Bolivia. We repudiate the coup attempt underway and extend all the solidarity of the Cuban government and people to brother Lucho," wrote the Head of State.
Once the attempt was thwarted, he welcomed the withdrawal of the coup troops from Plaza Murillo, in La Paz, pointing out that "another military coup in Bolivia would be a new affront to Latin America".
During the convulsive afternoon of this Wednesday, the Bolivian president declared that democracy would be respected. General Juan José Zúñiga, leader of the coup, was arrested together with other military officers involved in the event, which occurred after the Attorney General's Office initiated criminal proceedings against him.
After his arrest, Zúñiga, who is now being investigated for the alleged crimes of terrorism and armed uprising, was taken to a unit of the Special Anti-Crime Force (Felcc) in La Paz, reported Sputnik.
