
The 6th International Conference for the Balance of the World "With all and for the good of all" began yesterday at the Convention Center of this capital with a keynote speech by Frei Betto, Brazilian theologian and intellectual, who will speak on "Justice as the path to Peace and Balance in the World".
According to Héctor Hernández Pardo, coordinator of the Organizing Committee and president of the International Preparatory Committee, this biennial event will have more than 900 foreign delegates confirmed so far, from 93 countries.
Hernández Pardo said that the conference will bring together in Havana important political and academic personalities from the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Greece, Guyana, Colombia, Spain, Costa Rica, Brazil, Iran, Italy, Mexico and India, among others.
Senators, parliamentarians and professors will be present to exchange and debate on topics such as solidarity and peace, the international economic order and current challenges, he said.
He stressed that the idea of world balance is not alien to José Martí, an essential figure of this macro-event, but that Cuba's National Hero warned of the dangers and problems that the world is experiencing today because they were part of his political project beyond the borders of the largest of the Antilles.
The Conference will include panels on social networks, artificial intelligence and cultural identities, as well as working commissions dedicated to open science for equity, the thought of José Martí in Fidel whose birth centenary will be in 2026, he noted.
The also deputy director general of the Office of the Martiano Program informed that other events will take place such as the Youth Forum "With all and for the good of all", the 21st International Meeting of Marti Chairs, the Workshop on the new international economic order, the Inter-Parliamentary Forum for peace and democracy and the Forum of the United Nations associations.
From the arts there will be a World Congress of Poets for Peace in defense of life and a play back theater workshop to build empathy and unity collectively.
In this forum, one of the most representative of the world and that delves into the Marti's ideology from all spheres of development, a message from Pope Francis to its participants is expected, regarding the sense of peace and equity pursued by the event, said Hernández Pardo.
