President Donald Trump has launched a new threat against Cuba. These are not the ravings of "a madman." There is sufficient evidence accumulated over recent weeks to show that, in order to hide his country's internal crisis, the Epstein scandal, the ICE murders, the irreversible advent of a multipolar world, and the loss of US credibility on the international stage, the U.S. emperor is willing to act like Hitler.
Cuba has the right to make its own sovereign decisions. And we have already seen that the current U.S. administration, the Trump-Rubio duo, cares little about international law.
Over many years, we have learned that imperialism acts like a attack dog: at the slightest sign of weakness, it does not hesitate to attack with brutal fury. We also know that, from its arrogant perspective, the peoples of the Third World, the poor of the planet, are expendable.
In the face of the current genocidal and aggressive course of the Trump administration, we call on intellectuals, artists, and social movements to make common cause and close ranks in defense of Cuba's sovereignty.
We are part of this heroic people and from here, from this island that has been attacked and harassed for more than six decades for choosing its own path, the only guarantee we can give is our willingness to be soldiers of resistance in the face of aggression. And ours, all of ours, will be the victory.
