Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun urged the United States to listen to the voices, both internationally and within its own country, calling for an end to the blockade against Cuba.

In response to a question about recent statements regarding the situation on the island—including statements from Brazil, Mexico, and Spain, support from Russia, and calls from representatives and organizations in the United States to lift the blockade—the spokesperson emphasized that various sectors of U.S. society have expressed their opposition to this unilateral policy.

“The U.S. government must listen to this just voice and immediately lift the blockade, sanctions, and any form of coercion or pressure against Cuba,” he emphasized.

Guo affirmed that China is willing to work with all parties to firmly support Cuba in defending its sovereignty and national security, as well as in its rejection of any form of external interference.

China has consistently reiterated its support for Cuba in the face of the blockade and unilateral sanctions. Both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Communist Party of China have underscored Beijing’s opposition to these policies, while defending the island’s right to safeguard its sovereignty and choose its own path of development.

Likewise, the Asian giant has expressed on several occasions its willingness to continue deepening collaboration with Cuba in various fields, as part of a relationship based on mutual respect and cooperation.
