HAVANA.— Under the banner of " Yo te quiero libre," (I want you free) five young members of an initiative called a bicicletazo departed from Havana’s Central Park, August 13, to tour locations around the city and the province of Artemisa, in support of the Cuban Five, unjustly imprisoned in the United States for their efforts to prevent terrorism against Cuba. Fernando González, vice president of the Cuban Friendship Institute, a member of Five who served his sentence in full and is now free, thanked the group in the name of his brothers for the effort, which conveys a message of commitment to the struggle to free the three anti-terrorists who remain in prison, Gerardo Hernández, Ramón Labañino and Antonio Guerrero, he said. He described the 200 kilometer ride as indicative of the solidarity the Five have received, and a welcome contribution to the international campaign to free the Cuban prisoners. González added that when the Five are together again, they will take a ride along with the young activists, since "We know we can count on you in any effort." (AIN)
