OFFICIAL VOICE OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF CUBA CENTRAL COMMITTEE

They are young; they are students. They marched to remember eight students, much like themselves, who were summarily shot for their love of the country. This commemoration emphasized the legacy left by the medical students, seen today in the solidarity and internationalism of Cuban doctors saving lives in every corner of the world.

Torture and repression were condemned, and support expressed for justice in the case of 43 students from the Ayotzinapa Normal School in Mexico, who have disappeared. Leading the march was Yuniasky Crespo, first secretary of the Union of Young Communists’ National Committee; Yosvany Montano Garrido, president of the Federation of University Students (FEU); as well as authorities from the ministries of Public Health and Higher Education.
