On the morning of May 7, the First Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, received the honorable Mr. Bert Koenders, minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.
During the cordial encounter, both parties emphasized the good state of bilateral relations between the two nations; development achieved in regards to economy and commerce, as well as new opportunities for increased bilateral trade and Dutch investment in Cuba.
The distinguished visitor was accompanied by Mr. Norbertus W. M. Braakhuis, Dutch ambassador to Cuba and Mr. Matthijs C. Wolters, deputy director of the Department for the Western Hemisphere of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Participating on the Cuban side were Interim Minister of Foreign Relations, Marcelino Medina González; and Ministry Director of the Department for Europe and Canada, Elio Rodríguez Perdomo, among other Cuban Foreign Ministry officials.
