Today we present part three of images submitted by our readers which have been chosen as finalists by the specialists at the National Center for Protected Areas (CNAP) in the photo competition Natural Wonders of Cuba Photo Selection.
In the two previous editions Granma published images capturing the landscapes of the country’s eastern provinces. Today, part three consist of photographs of the central region and soon to be followed by those reflecting the western zone of the island.
The voting to choose the ten Natural Wonders of Cuba will take place beginning in September by return mail or on the web, with details to be announced shortly.
Thus far images of Los Monitongos, located in the Hatibonico ecological reserve, in Caimanera, Guan­tána­mo; the Hoyo de Morlote, in the Granma Landing National Park, Cabo Cruz, Niquero, Granma; a shot of the Great Sierra Maestra National Park, Granma; the Baracoa anvil, Guantánamo; and the El Guayabo waterfall, La Mensura National Park, in Pinares de Mayarí, Holguín.
In addition to Levisa Bay, Mayarí, Holguín; the Punta de Farallones, Marea del Portillo, Pilón, Granma; Bitirí Bridge, Cueto, Holguín; a shot of Pico Turquino in the Turquino National Park, Santiago de Cuba; CastroUrdiales rockyheadland, Sagua de Tánamo and the silla de Gibara, the Karst Hills of Maniabón, both located in Holguín province.
