
Yesterday afternoon, August 14, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, President of Cuba’s Councils of Ministers and State, received Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro Moros.
During the fraternal meeting, Raúl and Maduro expressed their mutual satisfaction with the positive development of relations between their two countries, and discussed important issues of regional and international interest.
Rául reiterated Cuba’s support for the Bolivarian Chavista Revolution and the civilian-military union led by President Maduro.
Maduro told Raúl that it has been a great joy for him to spend the day with Fidel, on the occasion of the historic leader’s 89th birthday.
Also participating in the meeting were Venezuela’s First Combatant Cilia Flores and Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Cuba’s ministers of Foreign Relations.
Upon concluding their conversation, Raúl accompanied Maduro to the airport to bid him farewell.
