On the afternoon of Wednesday, October 21, Salvador Valdés Mesa, a member of the Party Political Bureau and Council of State vice president, received Sharif Ali Hussein Meshaal, General Commissioner and member of the Al Fatah Movement’s Political Bureau, leading a delegation completing a program of exchanges with the Communist Party of Cuba.
During the fraternal encounter, the Palestinian politician noted that he was pleased to be visiting the island again, and expressed thanks for the country’s longstanding solidarity with the Palestinian people’s struggle and support in the form of professional training for hundreds of young people from the nation.
The two officials also discussed the current crisis affecting the Palestinian people, with the Israeli government increasing attacks on the territory, leaving more dead every day. He explained that his people are under occupation and their only option is to resist: a tenacious, courageous and valiant people, committed to securing their independence.
Meanwhile, Salvador Valdés Mesa reiterated Cuba’s solidarity with the just cause of the Palestinian people and the condemnation of continued Israeli aggression.
