President Raúl Castro Ruz received U.S. President Barack Obama this morning, March 21, in the Council of State headquarters, the Palace of the Revolution.
This is the third time the two leaders have met personally, since their December 17, 2014, announcements that the countries would work to reestablish diplomatic relations and move toward normalization.
During the official reception ceremony, the Cuban and U.S national anthems were played by a military band and the Presidents greeted members of delegations in attendance, before retiring for private talks.
It is expected that they will speak with the press following their meeting.
Later this afternoon, scheduled is a Cuba-U.S. Business Forum which President Obama is planning to attend.
