Ricardo Cabrisas, a vice president of the Council of Ministers, received His Excellency Emmanuel Issoze-Ngondet, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francophonie and Regional Integration of the Gabonese Republic, this Thursday afternoon, on an official visit to the island.

During their meeting, the two officials exchanged views regarding the good state of bilateral relations and expressed their willingness to continue working to expand the political, economic and cooperation ties existing between the two countries. To this end, the Gabonese minister noted the country’s intention to participate in the next Havana International Trade Fair, and advance the process of negotiating several bilateral agreements in order to establish a stronger legal framework to support new initiatives between the two countries, including a Trade Agreement and a new Cooperation Agreement. They also addressed various issues of interest on the international agenda.

The distinguished visitor was accompanied by Jean Claude Moussounda, ambassador of the Gabonese Republic in Cuba; Minister of Commerce, SMEs, Handicrafts, Tourism and Development services, Madeleine Berre; Serge Mickoto, managing general of the Gabonese Strategic Investment Fund; and other officials of the Embassy of the Gabonese Republic in Cuba.

Participating on the Cuban side were Angel Villa Hernández, Ministry of Foreign Affairs director for Sub-Saharan Africa, and Evangelio Montero Hernández, also from this department.
