For the fourth time, the Saíz Brothers Association (AHS) will celebrate Fidel's August 13 birthday in Pinar del Río with a series of activities featuring the work of young artists in this western province.
The event which has taken place annually in the municipality of San Juan y Martínez, is scheduled this year for August 11-13, to coincide with the anniversary of the murders of young rebels Sergio and Luis Saíz in 1957, as well as Fidel's 90th birthday.
The Hermanos Saíz Museum will be the site of the first activities with the presentation of the latest edition of the magazine Gaveta, poetry readings, book sales, and a performance by Fulano D tal, according to the Guerrillero website.
The Theater group Alas will stage a performance in the city's Guillén neighborhood, while scheduled for the evening is a musical event presented by members of the AHS.
The Modesto Gómez Rubio Polyclinic will host a tribute to revolutionary Isidro de Armas, on the 12th, with the presence of his daughter, while residents of Punta de Carta will enjoy a presentation of the children's theater group Titirivida. That evening will feature another musical show in the city's main plaza.
Scheduled for August 13 is a tribute to the Saíz Brothers at the monument erected in the memory of the brothers murdered by the Batista dictatorship at 17 and 19 years of age.
Also on the 13th, the neighborhood of Bolívar, in the municipality of Sandino, will host an event to celebrate Fidel's 90th birthday. (ACN)
