On the afternoon of September 7, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, first vice president of Cuba’s Councils of State and Ministers, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador, Hugo Martínez Bonilla, on an official visit to the island.
During the fraternal encounter, the two leaders discussed the positive state of bilateral relations shared by Cuba and El Salvador, and opportunities to further develop them. They also addressed issues on the international and regional agendas and prospects for the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), of which El Salvador is currently president pro tempore.
The distinguished visitor was accompanied by Salvadoran Ambassador to Cuba, Sandra Geraldine Alvarado Ramírez, and Foreign Ministry Cabinet Chief, Cecilia Elizabeth Segura de Dueñas.
Participating on the Cuban side were Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, minister of Foreign Relations, and Carlos R. Zamora Rodríguez, director general for Latin America and the Caribbean at the Cuban Foreign Ministry.
