Recently, People’s Power representatives have been undergoing intense days of training and preparation, following the first stage of general elections, the establishment of Municipal Assemblies of People’s Power, and the handing over of responsibilities by outgoing presidents and vice presidents to the incoming representatives.

Before officially assuming their duties, the 5,876 new constituency delegates received information vital to successfully fulfilling their roles as People’s Power representatives, including a socio-political breakdown and characteristics of their area, pending issues and the relevant paperwork.

Elected delegates have also visited workplaces, production and service centers; and met with representatives from social and mass organizations, as well as officials and managers of local Administration Councils.

Likewise, municipal presidents and vice presidents have been receiving information regarding the economic and social situation in each of their provinces; progress in the implementation of theEconomic and Social Policy Guidelines of the Party and the Revolution; and investments to support local development, among others.

Meanwhile, in order to improve municipal assemblies, their associated commissions, and people’s and administrative councils, delegates have also been receiving training on the procedures established within the provisions and powers which regulate the functioning of these bodies.
