According to information published by the Institutional Communication Department of Cuba’s telecommunications operator Etecsa, on its official website, the company recently signed a satellite service agreement with Luxemburg’s SES Networks.
The agreement will enable Etecsa to diversify connectivity and enhance the island’s existing terrestrial infrastructure via SES Networks’ high-performance fiber optic like medium orbit satellite, improving connectivity for Etecsa users.
SES “is the world-leading satellite operator and pioneer of many innovations in the sector. The company provides satellite communications services to broadcasters, content and internet service providers, mobile and fixed network operators, governments and institutions,” according to the European company’s website.
