CIENFUEGOS.-To date, 92% of the 2,445 damages caused by Hurricane Irma in Cienfuegos have been resolved, and all damaged roofs repaired.

The remaining tasks involving repairs to homes that were completely or partially flattened by the hurricane are due to be completed by September 5, to mark the 61st anniversary of the popular armed uprising in this city against the Fulgencio Batista dictatorship.

In the municipalities of Palmira, Cienfuegos, and Aguada de Pasajeros, all partial building collapses have been repaired.

In addition to close and permanent checks by the Party and government, the success of the program for the production of construction materials in the territory has greatly contributed to the rapid recovery, thanks to which 70 square meters of wall, floor and roofing materials are delivered every day.

Cienfuegos residents have acquired building materials worth some 13,000,000 pesos. A total of 2,415 people whose homes were damaged by Irma have benefited from bank loans to rebuild their homes amounting to 2,266,000 pesos.
