Havana is a beautiful city. What we need to do is heal the wounds of time, said Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of Cuba’s Councils of State and Ministers, speaking with the press after concluding the second day of his tour of Havana, yesterday May 17, which included stops at a new asphalt plant, the José Luis Tassende workers’ social center, and the restaurant complex on the corner of Zapata and 12th Street.
He insisted on the importance of ensuring the sustainability of revitalization works underway in the lead-up to the city’s 500th anniversary next year.
Accompanying him on the tour were Minister of Construction, René Mesa Villafaña; Mercedes López Acea, Political Bureau member and first secretary of the Party in Havana; and Reynaldo García Zapata, President of the Havana Provincial Assembly of People’s Power, among other leaders.
