The President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, received December 4 the President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) and Secretary General of the Polisario Front, His Excellency Brahim Ghali, on an official visit to Cuba.
During the fraternal meeting, the two leaders discussed the bonds of brotherhood that characterize bilateral relations and the main aspects of the existing cooperation between both nations. The Cuban President reiterated the island’s solidarity with the Saharawi cause and the support for its right to self-determination.
They also exchanged views on issues of interest on the international agenda.
The distinguished visitor was accompanied by Omar Mansur, Minister for Latin America and the Caribbean; Ambassador Melainine Etkana; and Abdati Breika, adviser to the President.
Participating on the Cuban side were Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla; Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rogelio Sierra Díaz; and Cuba’s Ambassador to the Arab nation, Clara Pulido Escandell.
