Matanzas.-Science must become a productive force, adding value, development, and modernization to productive processes. Hence the importance of building ties between Central State Administration, Cuban enterprises, and universities, stated Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, at the University of Matanzas, during the second government visit to this province.
During the meeting with students and professors, in which several ministers and deputy ministers participated, Leyda Finalé de la Cruz, rector of the University of Matanzas, presented the institution’s main accomplishments and alliances with diverse entities, especially the Indio Hatuey Pasture and Forages Experimental Station, and the José Valdés Reyes Railway Industrial Enterprise.
Díaz-Canel praised the functioning of the scientific-technological pole in Matanzas, which with 38 projects underway, is in excellent conditions to export software and serve as a national reference.
