The President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, compañero Pham Binh Minh, on an official visit to Cuba.

During the fraternal meeting, the two leaders referred to the excellent state of bilateral relations, and reiterated the will to expand trade, economic and cooperation ties. They also discussed issues of mutual interest on the international agenda.

In particular, the Cuban leader recalled his stay in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam last November.

The distinguished visitor was accompanied by the Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba, Nguyen Trung Thanh, and the Director of the Foreign Policy Department, Nguyen Minh Vu.

Participating on the Cuban side were Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, and Director General of Bilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emilio Lozada García.
