
The Second Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee, José Ramón Machado Ventura, received Phan Dinh Trac, member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Secretariat, and president of its Internal Affairs Commission, this Monday afternoon.
During the meeting, Machado highlighted the historic and special bonds of brotherhood between the two countries’ parties, governments and peoples. He also exchanged with the distinguished visitor about the right-wing, neoliberal offensive underway in Latin America and the Caribbean, and the efforts of our Party to promote unity, anti-imperialist struggle and solidarity, particularly with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
The Cuban official referred to the hostile policy of the United States government against Cuba, and the full application of the Helms-Burton Act. In this regard, Phan Dinh Trac reiterated the invariable policy of the Communist Party and the state of Vietnam in rejecting the U.S. blockade, as well as the willingness of the leadership of his country to continue strengthening the bonds of friendship and solidarity with Cuba.
Accompanying the distinguished guest were the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Cuba, Nguyen Trung Thanh, and other members of his delegation. Participating on the Cuban side was Juan Carlos Marsán Aguilera, deputy head of the International Relations Department of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee.
