Recognized as the most massive popular mobilization that takes place in the country, May Day this year could also be a huge demonstration of international solidarity with the Cuban Revolution.
This was stated by Party Political Bureau member, Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, general secretary of the Federation of Cuban Workers (CTC), in a recent meeting with representatives of building trades unions from France, Panama, Belgium and the Philippines visiting the island.
Cuban national television reported that in addition to seeking the support of these friends to the CTC’s call inviting them to participate, with other delegations, in celebrating International Workers' Day here, Guilarte de Nacimiento explained to the visitors the damage caused by the U.S. economic war on our people.
Ambet Yuson, secretary general of the Construction and Wood Workers International, stressed the importance of showing solidarity with the Cuban people in a concrete manner, while Bruno Bothua, secretary general of the French General Confederation of Labor, described U.S. coercive measures against Cuba as criminal and genocidal.
