The continuity of agreements reached at the Communist Party of Cuba’s Eight Congress was reviewed with the analysis of work done to date, with a critical, equanimous eye, during meetings of the national leadership with the membership and authorities in each of the country’s provinces, in which the Party’s strengths and adherence to the principles that uphold its role as the leading force of Cuban socialism were recognized.
The grassroots, the local branch, is the heart of the Party’s organization. No one doubts that this is where results are seen, whatever the social purpose of the workplace or community where a branch is located.
No topic is alien to the Party, and given its duty to be the most revolutionary force within the Revolution, as Central Committee First Secretary Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez has stated, all issues that emerge on a daily basis in our society were addressed in reports presented, in their discussion and analysis. In these debates it became clear that as members of the organization, militants must serve as examples in all their work and social interactions.
The economic and ideological battle, sugar and food production are today’s priorities, essential to the country’s sustainability, and central in the Party’s daily activity. While creativity, innovation and the use of science are key to advancing toward our most pressing goals and overcoming the tremendous obstacles of the tightened blockade, a world marked by inequality and the pandemic’s persistent impact.
These review meetings, of course, considered the Party’s internal organization and social projection, including its increasingly close and necessary contact with the Young Communists League, with younger generations in general, not only as a guarantee of the future, but also to further the mission, inherited from our historical generation, to serve as a guide and example for the most inexperienced participants in this colossal effort.
This has been an accountability process from which our one and only Party has emerged stronger, with its leadership capacity intact. Once again, the political maturity of the ranks, whose history is also the history of the Cuban Revolution, has been manifested once again. No doubt, ours continues to be the Communist Party of unity and continuity.
