Since the evening of Friday, August 5, a tank at the Supertanker Depot in the Matanzas Industrial Zone was hit by lightning, leading to a fire of great proportions, efforts to control spreading of the fire and extinguish the flames have not ceased.
There is no precedent in the history of Cuba for a fire of this magnitude, which has compromised four tanks of this vital infrastructure.
