The Cuban ambassador to the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, Juan Antonio Quintanilla, described the economic, commercial and financial blockade by the United States as a flagrant and systematic violation of human rights.
The diplomat denounce it in the continuation of the activities of the 51st session of the Human Rights Council, a forum in which he rejected the siege imposed on the Cuban people by Washington for more than 60 years, Cubaminrex website reported.
In his speech, he reaffirmed the island's commitment to the realization and protection of all human rights for all, without political manipulation, selectivity or double standards.
