The 38th Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2022) is a space to promote the country's National Economic and Social Development Plan, especially those projects included in the macro program of productive transformation and international insertion, said Antonio Carricarte Corona, president of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce.
He highlighted that there is a marked interest in participating in this fair, the largest in the region of a multi-sectoral type, which returns after a two-year pause due to COVID-19.
He revealed that, so far, some 400 companies from more than 60 countries and 170 national companies have confirmed their presence in this commercial event that will run from November 14 to 18, with representation of the main entities of goods and services of the country, cooperatives and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. Thirty delegations of Chambers of Commerce will also attend.
Carricarte Corona said that the aim is to give visibility to priority sectors for the island, such as food, agriculture, industry, tourism, education, transportation, construction and the Mariel Special Development Zone. FIHAV will host the Fifth Foreign Investment Forum, in which Cuba will present the Business Opportunities Portfolio, updated with the new policies, a panel on opportunities for Cubans living abroad who wish to invest in the country, and the presentation of Cuba as the venue for the Expo Aladi 2023 Multisectorial Business Macro-Roundtable.
