OFFICIAL VOICE OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF CUBA CENTRAL COMMITTEE

A dozen Cuban media and people who share their news and political position have been marked on Twitter or blocked on Facebook in the last two days, as part of a mechanism, previously used in both networks, to make content related to political processes invisible.

On Facebook, the Razones de Cuba page, key in denouncing terrorism from abroad against our people, was blocked, as well as the profiles of journalists such as Raúl Antonio Capote, editor-in-chief of Granma Internacional and one of our analysts.

In the case of Twitter, Granma newspaper, the official organ of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, was among the first ones that, now under the label of "affiliated to the Government of Cuba", the microblogging platform "will not recommend or amplify among users".

Affiliated to truth, transparency and the right to exist as a counterpart of the right wing and its global hegemony, Granma newspaper will continue to use this and other platforms that allow reaching a diverse audience interested in Fidel’s and Marti's Cuba, against is now the victim of media terrorism one more time.

We denounce the discriminatory nature of this policy which affects prestigious Cuban media such as Cubadebate, Canal Caribe, Radio Rebelde, Radio Habana Cuba, Radio Reloj, Juventud Rebelde and Trabajadores.

For sharing truths they do not agree with on Twitter, those who retweet messages from those accounts or share links to their websites are also marked as unreliable, as well as their editors-in-chief and their senior staff.

The Union of Journalists of Cuba denounced this action that censors and hinders citizens' access to information.
