The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, received Tuesday Jorge Neme, Secretary of Development Planning and Federal Competitiveness of Argentina, whom the Head of State thanked for the boost he has given to bilateral ties in various sectors of the economy.

The Head of State also thanked President Alberto Fernández for his support against the blockade, with a very strong statement on behalf of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States at the Summit of the Americas, according to the website of the Presidency.

Díaz-Canel acknowledged the importance of the multiple projects carried out in Cuba, with Argentine support, especially the grain project in the central region, and expressed his willingness to continue promoting joint projects and sponsoring those related to the food agro-industry, renewable energy sources and others associated with foreign investment in domestic trade, both wholesale and retail.

It is really a pleasure to cooperate and strengthen the ties that Argentina has traditionally had with the Republic of Cuba, said Jorge Neme, who also described the blockade as an anachronism of international politics.

Neme also said that the members of the visiting delegation will evaluate the details to start the agricultural project of grain production in December, the Presidency website reported.

He assured that the information they have on soil, water and irrigation systems added to the experiences of Cuban and Argentine technicians, can yield great productivity.
