
On the afternoon of November 22, Army General Raul Castro Ruz received the Minister of Interior of the Russian Federation, Police General Vladimir A. Kolokoltsev, who has been visiting Cuba since November 20.
During the exchange, they spoke of the excellent state of relations, the high level of political dialogue between the two countries and agreed on the willingness to continue expanding bilateral relations.
Raul was accompanied by Major General Lazaro Alberto Alvarez Casas, member of the Political Bureau and Minister of the Interior, and Colonel Rebeca Fernandez Otero, head of the International Relations Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior. Also present with the visiting delegation were the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Cuba, Victor Koronelli, and Major General of Internal Affairs, Alexandr A. Nikolaev, head of the minister's secretariat.
MEETING WITH PRESIDENT DIAZ-CANEL
The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, also met with the Russian Minister of the Interior at the Palace of the Revolution.
This visit, said the Head of State in his greeting, contributes to strengthening the ties of friendship between Cuba and the Russian Federation. It marks a trend that we have, of strengthening, consolidating and expanding our relations at the present time, said the Head of State.
There is a historical legacy between our nations and peoples, which has been formed since the Soviet Union period, especially for all the intention and commitment that Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and Army General Raúl Castro Ruz have always had, he reflected.
During his visit to the Cuban capital, Kolokoltsev paid his respects at the Mausoleum of the Soviet Internationalist Soldier, visited the Fidel Castro Ruz Center and held a meeting with his Cuban counterpart.
