Cuba ratified its will to continue strengthening the legal and institutional framework for human rights. This was expressed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Greater Antilles, Ines Maria Chapman Waugh, in her account in X, referring to the High Level event on the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The Foreign Ministry explained that the participation of the Deputy Prime Minister in the event constitutes the closing of a series of political, cultural and academic activities carried out in the country to commemorate the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the 30th anniversary of the Vienna Declaration and Program of Action.
Different sectors of society have been involved in these activities, including Cuban civil society organizations, which were also represented at the high-level event in Geneva.
The meeting, which will last until today, under the organization of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, consists of four thematic round tables and two sessions in which member states present their actions to promote and protect human rights.
