New measures to be implemented in 2024, in order to correct distortions and boost the economy, were presented yesterday, on the first day of the Second Ordinary Session of the 10th Legislature of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP), which was attended by the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, and Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic.
In presenting the theme, the member of the Political Bureau of the Party and Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, emphasized the need to revitalize the national production of goods and services, as the fundamental basis of a strategy that, while eliminating subsidies and generating new incentives, without neglecting the social protection of the most vulnerable, accelerate the creation of conditions for the economic growth of the nation.
Marrero Cruz invoked the faith in the victory of the Cuban people and the historical leadership of the Revolution, always capable of getting out of complex situations such as the current one. He cited, then, Raul's conviction that yes, it was possible, yes, it is possible and yes, it will be possible.
The deputies discussed the economic results for the year 2023, which were much lower than expected, and approved the objectives and goals of the plan for 2024, as well as the Budget Law for next year.
