"At your orders, Captain". This is how one of the comrades of the clandestine struggle bid farewell to Rebel Army Captain Felipe Guerra Matos, together with family members, combatants of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) and representatives of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Inder).

The funeral ceremony, at the Veterans' Pantheon of the Colon Necropolis, was accompanied by floral offerings from Army General Raul Castro Ruz, leader of the Cuban Revolution; Miguel Diaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, and the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution (ACRC).

Major Generals Victor Rojo Ramos, member of the Central Committee of the PCC and head of the Political Directorate of the FAR; and Jose Antonio Carrillo Gomez, president of the ACRC; Brigadier General Delsa Esther Puebla, and Osvaldo Vento Montiller, president of Inder, performed the guard of honor.

Rojo Ramos highlighted the revolutionary legacy of "Guerrita", who passed away last February 10. Born on May 1st, 1927, in Manzanillo, he was a member of the 26th of July Movement. During the war he was an effective liaison under the guidance of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, Frank País and Celia Sánchez.

He was awarded the medals of combatants of the clandestine struggle and the war of liberation, Combatant of the Colum No. 1 José Martí, and those of the 20th, 30th, 40th, 40th, 50th and 60th commemorations of the FAR, among others.
