Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, called yesterday for being able to discuss problems, propose solutions and contribute with daily commitment, reported ACN, in the balance of the work of the People's Courts System.
The Head of State insisted on the need to continue the permanent verification of compliance with the deadlines for the processes established by law and the effective execution of the sentences once they have been issued, aspects he considered key to strengthen the socialist legality in the country.
Díaz-Canel stressed the greater weight that should be given to the figure of the enforcement judge, who, among his duties, should be involved in the follow-up of persons who have committed a crime with the intention that they can be reintegrated into society.
This, together with the deepening of community work, are actions that must be implemented in greater depth to counteract certain trends related to criminal recidivism, he said.
The President referred to the new alternatives to alleviate labor fluctuation and the completion of workforces, in which he praised the agency's strategies for these purposes, which have had good results in terms of the permanence of the labor force and differentiated work with young people.
Rubén Remigio Ferro, president of the People's Supreme Court (tsp), highlighted that last year 113,986 cases were processed and concluded, which is equivalent to 87.6% of the total to be processed, and 49,932 final sentences had to be executed, of which 44,609 were complied with, for 89.3%.
He specified that this, together with other factors, are concrete indicators that allow establishing a greater control and management of the quality of the judicial activity, which is distinguished by a high degree of processing of matters in this period, which in turn has an impact on the promptness and efficiency of the instances in charge of the administration of justice.
The meeting was attended, in person and virtually, by presidents and territorial representatives of the People's Court System, which last December celebrated half a century of its constitution, of the military courts and officials of the Ministry of the Interior in charge of the investigative activity, among other representatives.
Also present were members of the Political Bureau of the Party Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization, and Salvador Valdés Mesa, Vice President of the Republic.
