Second Front, Santiago de Cuba.—With the fidelist certainty that "Vilma's example is today more necessary than ever", the central activities in commemoration of the 94th anniversary of her birth had its culmination in this place, with the laying of a bouquet of flowers by the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Army General Raul Castro Ruz, and a wreath -on behalf of the Cuban people-, in the place that keeps the ashes of the heroine, in the Mausoleum of the Second Front Frank País Garcia.
With the presence of the member of the Political Bureau and secretary general of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), Teresa Amarelle Boué, hundreds of women from this geography, representing all Cuban women, gathered to celebrate her legacy and the vitality of the organization.
"We evoke today, with deep emotion and respect, the eternal president of the FMC, Vilma Espín, in whose life the most genuine values of Cuban women are summarized", expressed in X the First Secretary of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.
In a special way, ten young women received the card that accredits them as members of the fmc, as an expression that the present and the future of the Homeland are the continuity of the work to which the Historic Generation, of which Vilma was part, devoted her life.
