
A government visit to Camagüey province began yesterday with the purpose of monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the State's projections to correct distortions and boost the economy.
As part of the work agenda on the first day, Deputy Prime Minister Inés María Chapman Waugh visited the Diez de Octubre thermoelectric power plant in Nuevitas, where she learned about the repair of the pumping equipment of the Saramaguacán Station, reported the provincial radio station Radio Cadena Agramonte.
Likewise, according to the Cuban News Agency (ACN in Spanish), José Angel Portal Miranda, Minister of Public Health, also participated in the Eighth National Meeting of Medical Sciences Students, which will last until Friday, with the attendance of delegates from all the provinces and the Latin American School of Medicine.
On the other hand, the Minister of Domestic Trade, Betsy Díaz Velázquez toured key entities of the economy such as agricultural units, where she evaluated food production, services in the Family Care System and other issues of interest.
Alberto López Díaz, Minister of the Food Industry, toured the basic business unit Florida Dairy, where he inquired about current productions, their destination, costs and raw materials used and forms of payment.
