Diaz-Canel's stay in Russia comes in the framework of the 64th anniversary of the restoration of diplomatic relations with Cuba and the 79th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
Since taking office as head of state, he has visited that nation in 2018, 2019 and 2022. In the last of his visits, in the joint press conference offered with the Russian President, both addressed the Cooperation Plan between the two governments, with various common projects, until 2030.
