In a message to the people, through the social network X, the Head of State noted that he will participate in the Supreme Council of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), a structure of which the island is an Observer State since December 11, 2020.
Diaz-Canel's stay in Russia comes in the framework of the 64th anniversary of the restoration of diplomatic relations with Cuba and the 79th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
Since taking office as head of state, he has visited that nation in 2018, 2019 and 2022. In the last of his visits, in the joint press conference offered with the Russian President, both addressed the Cooperation Plan between the two governments, with various common projects, until 2030.
