The institution fulfilled the task of erecting a living monument to the memory and work of Celia Sanchez Manduley, as requested by Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz. This was acknowledged by Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, leader of the Cuban Revolution, in a congratulatory letter sent to the collective of the Office of Historical Affairs of the Republic of Cuba.
At the ceremony celebrating the 60th anniversary of the office and the 104th anniversary of the birth of Celia, Heroine of the Mountains and the Plains-in which members of the Political Bureau, Manuel Marrero Cruz, prime minister, and Salvador Valdés Mesa, vice president of the Republic, participated-, José Luis Aneiros Alonso, director of the Office, highlighted the recent efforts developed by the researchers, among which stands out a chronology of Fidel between 1926 and 1976, as well as the continuity of the project of the diary of the First Front José Martí, and the beginning of another one on the Fourth Front Simón Bolívar.
Among the challenges, he mentioned the completion of the staff and the strengthening of the link with the communities and organizations, in addition to fulfilling the tasks entrusted in the creation of the Museum of the First Front.
