
The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba began its 8th Plenary Session this Friday morning, chaired by its First Secretary and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, and presided over by the member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization, Roberto Morales Ojeda.
In their eighth plenary session after the 8th Party Congress, held in April 2021, the members of the Party body will analyze the fulfillment of the agreements of the previous plenary session and receive an account from the Political Bureau.
They will evaluate, among other things, the state of implementation of the government's projections to correct distortions and revive the economy in the first half of the year, as well as the results achieved in food production and the implementation of the Law on Food Sovereignty and Nutrition Education.
The meeting will be held between Friday and Saturday; the debates will also include measures to prevent and combat corruption, crime, illegality and social indiscipline.
The holding of the 8th Plenary Session of the Central Committee of the PCC is a guarantee of the continuity of the Revolution and the unity of Cubans around the revolutionary and socialist project, and comes at this moment in the midst of intense work by its top leadership in tours and visits to the territories.
This is a system of work that strengthens the work of the organization and confirms the will to continue addressing the main concerns of our people in a prioritized and personalized way.
The Political Bureau, which reports to the Central Committee in its 8th Plenary Session, has continued to work with priority on the correction of distortions and the revitalization of the economy, seeking solutions to reverse the current situation of the country.
At the same time, in the midst of the current circumstances, it has worked to fulfill the agreements adopted in the previous plenary session, guaranteeing the continuity of the organization's work and its projection to society.
In turn, the agreements that emerge from this plenary session must be the object of special attention in order to guarantee the necessary improvements in our society, especially in the correction of distortions and the revitalization of the economy, where the participation of the militants in the production of food and in the programs for national development is crucial.
At the same time, the role of the militants is crucial in the promotion of the truth of our country, using all the means at its disposal, especially the social networks of the Internet, something that is more important today than ever.
In the current circumstances, the maxim of the leader of the Revolution, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, who said: "We will get out of these difficulties, as we have always done, by fighting!
