The Council of State approved six decree laws with a view to updating the legal provisions for non-state economic actors in the country, during the extraordinary session that was headed by the president of this body, Esteban Lazo Hernández; and with the participation of the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez; and the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz.

As previously reported, the Council of Ministers exercised the legislative initiative to submit these decree laws to the Council of State for approval.

The members of the Council of State analyzed and approved the Decree Laws on the exercise of self-employment; on non-agricultural cooperatives; and on micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. In addition, the Council of State issued the Decree Laws on the exercise of self-employment, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and non-agricultural cooperatives; on the special social security regime for self-employed workers, members of non-agricultural cooperatives and micro, small and medium-sized private enterprises and holders of Local Development Projects and the amendment of Law No. 113 of the Tax System, respectively.

In order to update these regulatory provisions, a broad consultation process was previously carried out with the entities involved, which allowed for a more comprehensive evaluation of their content and various criteria, in order to improve and strengthen the quality of the proposals.

In essence, these Decree Laws continue to advance on the right path, aimed at reorganizing and improving the work, so that all forms of management contribute to the economic and social development of the country, specifying the role that corresponds to each actor in the national economy, as well as the measures adopted as part of the Government's projections to correct distortions and boost the economy in the year 2024.

The Council of State once again discussed the draft laws on Migration, Citizenship and Aliens, and the amendments made after the extensive legislative process, prior to their presentation to the deputies in the Third Ordinary Session of the National Assembly of People's Power, in its Tenth Legislature.
